Jaco Beach in Costa Rica is one of the first Costa Rican beach towns. Jaco was mainly a spot for national tourism, many "TICOS" would come on the weekend from San Jose to Jaco (1.5 hour drive) to enjoy a family weekend at the beach. In the last few years Jaco has gone through a major development stage, many new Jaco hotels were built, new restaurants opened and tour operators established their business in Jaco offering tourist a large number of activities to enjoy while in staying in Jaco.
Today Jaco is famous for its surf in Jaco Beach and in the surrounding beaches, such as Hermosa, Esterillos Oeste, Esterillos Centro and Bejuco. Most of the good surf spots are with in less than 40 minutes drive. Jaco also offers life scene and a variety of good restaurants and much more.

Jaco Beach offers a wide variety of hotels, from inexpensive cabins running for around $35 per night to luxurious and comfortable hotels offering full hotel services. Some hotels have beach front while others are located within 2 minutes walk from the beach.

How to get to Jaco.
By Car:
Located on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Jaco Beach is less than 110 Kilometers (68 miles) from San Jose, It's a beautiful drive that takes you through Atenas, Orotina, and Tarcoles and down to Jaco.
By Bus:
Costa Rica Public Bus Transportation is probably the least expensive way you can travel from one destination to another, There are companies servicing Jaco Beach daily from San Jose, Garabito Transports and other companies depart from the down town San Jose, located at the "Coca Cola Bus Stations". Busses leave from San Jose to Jaco about every two hours.
By Shuttle Service.
The Shuttle Transportation Service in Costa Rica is probably the most secure and comfortable way to drive around Costa Rica. Service rates varies according to distance, for about $35 to $50 per person you can get from any major town in Costa Rica to Jaco Beach.
By Air.
Jaco does not have a direct airport, the closest airport is Quepos and Manuel Antonio – and drive up north for about 1 hours.
